How do we create a society that cares for everyone? Where caring isn't a privilege for the many not the few?
We are surrounded in our society by quiet courage. Carers, givers and change-makers who often quietly sacrifice their own well being and psychological safety to care for others. In organisations and institutions many of us only ever turn to when we need something. Not when we have something to offer.
It was such a privilege to spend time listening to the wisdom, thoughtfulness and philosophies of Dr Patrick Ismond. About how we care for those who care. How we ensure we are including those who are quietly labouring courage for the benefit of others.
Little did I know at the time that Patrick was to publish his first novel on May 27th. I’m delighted to be able to offer this magnificent line from the book and a link to grab an early copy.
‘I am a certain breed of man - so sacrificed am I to this Glorious Movement that any absence of its beating heart stops my own, and dismantles the core of my being.
Amikae, Stirrings of An Abolitionist, Dr Patrick Ismond
