I saw a photo in the local Facebook group for old photos of Wrexham of the suffragettes protesting in the park beside my primary school at Lloyd George. I’d never seen it before. It was more powerful somehow than the photos Ive seen of further afield suffragettes. The blurb explained that men ripped the clothes and took bits of cloth home with them as trophies of them ‘showing’ the sufferagettes what they thought of them. It is so brave.
